Book NGUECOKH
NGUECOKH by Tom Huber, 176 pages; 230x320mm. Published by Cpress.
Tom Huber unexpectedly finds himself in the small Senegalese village of Nguecokh. There, he encounters a self-sustained community whose residents mainly farm peanuts and melons. What begins as a spontaneous desire to be photographed develops into a photobook that balances documentary photography and art, accompanied by texts in which villagers recount their history and daily lives, reflecting on climate change, religion, polygamy, education, health, and the village’s future. Proceeds from the book support Nguecokh’s communal school. Book Design by Christof Nüssli.
